After his debut in Aix-en-Provence, Christian-Pierre La Marca studied in Paris with Jean-Marie Gamard, Philippe Muller, then Gary Hoffman before continuing his training with Frans Helmerson in Cologne and Steven Isserlis in London. He completed it with masterclasses with Mstislav Rostropovich, Heinrich Schiff, Anner Bylsma, Peter Wispelwey, Natalia Shakovskaya, Natalia Gutman, Bernard Greenhouse and benefited from the advice and encouragement of Itzhak Perlman, Philippe Jaroussky, Thomas Quasthoff, Gabor Takács, Menahem Pressler, Leif Ove Andsnes, Maria João Pires, the Artemis Quartet, François-Xavier Roth and Seiji Ozawa.
His trajectory is marked by successes at international competitions in Osaka, Frankfurt, London (Philharmonia Award), New York (YCA) and Vienna (Haydn). He has also been invited several times to the Victoires de la musique classique and to various radio and television programs around the world.

Christian-Pierre was also a founding member of the Dali Trio (2006-2016).
His discography reflects his curiosity as well as his fidelity to the great repertoire and has won numerous international awards. His album Cello 360 won the prestigious Gramophone Award. Christian-Pierre La Marca records exclusively for naïve, a Believe Group label. The latest addition to the catalogue - Legacy (2023) - in concerto describes the classical lineage of the cello through concerti by Porpora, Haydn and Mozart. His next album dedicated to Clara and Robert Schumann with the Philharmonia Orchestra will be released in 2024.
Since 2018, Christian-Pierre has initiated a "Concert for the Planet" with the GoodPlanet Foundation and Yann Arthus-Bertrand; a multi-artist and genre solidarity event, aimed at raising funds for environmental projects around the world. He has taught at the cello masterclasses at the Philippe Jaroussky Music Academy at La Seine Musicale and continues his teaching at the Paul Dukas Conservatory in Paris.
Official Larsen Strings artist, he is a Gewa Case and Henle Library ambassador. He wears clothes created by Agnès b and is supported by ADAMI, CNM, SPPF. He plays a unique Neapolitan cello (ca1830). The Fondation de la Vocation provides him with a Jacob Eury bow (1825) which he plays alternately with a Georges-Léon Lamy bow (ca.1900) loaned by the Anima Foundation as well as a baroque bow made for him by Jean-Yves Tanguy.
