After serving as principal flute with the prestigious Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel, Julien Beaudiment is now principal flute of the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Lyon and a professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. Originally from La Rochelle and Bordeaux, he crossed the Channel at 18 to study at the Guildhall School of Music in London. He later joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he won first prizes in flute and chamber music.

Winner of the Barcelona International Competition, his solo career quickly developed after leaving the Paris Conservatoire.
