Options

The options

Several options are available to enrich your experience at the Academy.

Artistic Options

  • Number of sessions : one or more weeks, with the same teacher, multiple different teachers and/or in an interdisciplinary pathway. All combinations are possible!
  • Offered Disciplines :
    • Instrumental Music : technical and artistic improvement
    • Singing : vocal work and interpretation
    • Dance : choreographic technique and expression
    • Keyboard harmonization (optional)
Workshop led by Isabelle Duha. This option includes six group classes spread over one working session. It offers an approach to musical language both vertically and horizontally. Keyboard work provides immediate coherence between brain and hand; it facilitates understanding and memorization of works, eliminating the distance between conception and realization. Daily mental and digital training in small groups: Cadences and harmonic progressions to be transposed MEMORY work on short repertoire excerpts after analysis and without the instrument TRANSPOSITION of repertoire excerpts after analysis EAR TRAINING: memorization and reproduction of a heard excerpt Very rapid ANALYSIS of repertoire works Introduction to HARMONY: harmonization of Baroque, Classical, and Romantic melodies Introduction to COUNTERPOINT: invertible counterpoint (two-voice inventions), canon, fugue, imitation FIGURED BASS: mastery of Baroque figured bass notation Introduction to IMPROVISATION
    • Chamber Music (optional)
Option taught by Agnès Sulem, First Violin of the Rosamonde Quartet, Professor at the CNSMD of Lyon. The practice of chamber music is fundamental in the musical development of any instrumental student. Beyond simply “playing together,” its teaching aims to deepen the art of listening, enabling each instrumentalist to play their own part in service of the work as a whole. It establishes the foundations of a musician’s professional practice for building a musical project: polyphonic reading and listening, harmonic listening and intonation work, development of a collective rhythmic project, work on sound homogeneity, stylistic research, and in-depth instrumental technique. Preparation for competitions and concerts, exploration of specific repertoires or musical languages (Classical style, Romantic repertoire, Second Viennese School, French music, 20th-century classics, contemporary repertoire, etc.). For any information regarding registration preparation, you may contact Agnès Sulem by email at: registration@aien.fr, and we will forward your message.

Complementary Options

  • Video mockup for competition preparation or for communication
The Academy’s communication department is at your service to record, over one hour, one or more works in order to produce a professional-quality video demo. Skills and technical resources are available to help develop your musical career, build and promote your musical projects, see and hear yourself in a recording situation, and prepare for competitions or auditions. This recording may also be used for your website or social networks (available in all formats). You choose the excerpts and passages, and you may keep all raw footage (audio and video). This option includes audio and video recording (multi-camera), handled by our team. All materials produced are delivered within a maximum of one month after the recording day (sent digitally via WeTransfer/SwissTransfer).
  • Work studio with daily piano access
This option guarantees access to a practice room with a piano for a minimum of 6 hours per day. Availability is subject to practice room scheduling, which may vary depending on the session.
  • Managing Stage Fright (sophrology)
Workshop objective: Stage fright is a natural reaction among artists, but it can become an obstacle to musical expression when poorly managed. This workshop aims to provide musicians with effective tools to transform stage fright into an ally, thereby improving their stage performance and overall well-being.
  • Additional Hour with Accompanying Pianist
This option allows you, according to your needs, to benefit from additional rehearsal time with a pianist. This option is subject to the availability of accompanist pianists per session.
  • Additional Hour in Individual Lesson
Choice of teacher at the time of registration. New: This option also allows you to participate in the chamber music option at no additional cost!
  • Accompanying auditor (mandatory for minors)
MANDATORY for accompanied minors. This option allows the accompanying person to be officially identified and grants access to: – the accompanied minor’s classes (subject to the teacher’s approval), – lunches at the conservatory cafeteria, – concerts of the Nice Classic Festival.
  • Improvisation workshop
Workshop led by Pascal Amoyel These workshops, open to all disciplines and with no level requirement (from beginner to advanced), aim to reconnect musicians with a spontaneous, vibrant, and embodied practice of their art, drawing on the traditions of idiomatic and non-idiomatic improvisation that were once an integral part of the training of so-called “classical” musicians. Through various approaches — imitation, guided improvisation, listening games, soundpainting, setting texts to music, collective creation — participants learn to free their creativity, refine their listening skills, and enrich their interpretative approach. A workshop presentation will be given by the students on a shared stage with Pascal Amoyel.
