Recently invited by prestigious orchestras such as the Mariinsky Orchestra under the direction of Valery Gergiev, or the Orchestre National de Bordeaux-Aquitaine under the direction of Paul Daniel, pianist Jean-Baptiste Fonlupt regularly performs at major festivals in France and in many countries including Italy, Belgium, Germany, the United States, and South Korea. The Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Bordeaux Auditorium, the Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall as well as numerous venues in China, the Salamanca Hall in Japan, the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, and the Simón Bolívar Concert Hall in Caracas have welcomed him.

His discography ranges from Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach to Franz Liszt, with additional recordings dedicated to Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann, and most recently an album dedicated to Ballet music with works by Stravinsky, Prokofiev, and Ravel. His recordings have received top awards in French and international music magazines, including a Diapason d'Or for the Ballets album, and are regularly broadcast on the airwaves.

Trained with Bruno Rigutto at the CNSMD de Paris, Michael Endres at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule in Berlin, and Elisso Virsaladze at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, he currently teaches at the CRR de Rueil-Malmaison at the professional levels and at the Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur, Belgium.

He will also teach at the École Normale Cortot in Paris starting in September 2025
