Valentina IGOSHINA was born in Briansk (Russia) where she began studying piano before joining the prestigious Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and then winning several international competitions: Rubinstein in Poland in 1993, Serge Rachmaninov in Moscow in 1997, Queen Elisabeth in Brussels in 2003, José Iturbi in Valencia in 2006. Valentina has performed in recitals in London, Zurich, Milan, Paris, Moscow, Luxembourg, Saint-Louis (USA), Madrid, Alicante, Lyon, Ludwigsburg, Palermo... and has participated in numerous festivals including Radio France-Montpellier, La Roque d'Anthéron, Piano aux Jacobins in Toulouse, Piano en Valois in Angoulême, Piano Folies in Le Touquet, Ravello in Italy, Bath in the United Kingdom, Dushniki Zdroi in Poland, Musica Belem in Lisbon, Povoa de Varzim and Cintra in Portugal, Styriarte in Graz in Austria.

Valentina has also been invited by numerous orchestras (Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Hallé in Manchester, BBC Scotland in Glasgow, Galicia Philharmonic in Santiago de Compostela, Polish Radio in Warsaw and Katowice, Brandenburg Symphony, Barcelona Symphony, Municipal of Santiago de Chile, Royal Chamber of Wallonia, Japan Philharmonic in Tokyo...) to perform the great concertos of the Russian repertoire (Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Scriabin...) but also Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, Grieg...

Her discography includes "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Mussorgsky and Carnaval by Schumann (Warner Classics), the complete Waltzes of Chopin (Lontano, Warner Classics) and more recently the 2 Concertos by Shostakovich (CPO) alongside the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Neuss am Rhein. She has also been heard on broadcasts by the BBC and Classic FM in the United Kingdom, and two DVDs (Claverdons Film London, dist. WarnerVision) made for the BBC by Tony Palmer are available, in which she performs pieces by Rachmaninov and Chopin: The Harvest of Sorrow dedicated to Serge Rachmaninov and The Mystery of Chopin - The Strange Case of Delphina Potocka.

Alongside her concert activities, Valentina teaches at the Conservatoire Maurice Ravel in Paris, nurturing new talents as she previously did at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and she also gives numerous masterclasses.
