Claude Lefebvre studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she obtained a First Prize in flute in Michel Debost’s class and a First Prize in chamber music in Christian Lardé’s class. She then perfected her skills with Patrick Gallois. Winner of the Vierzon International Competition and of the Cziffra and Menuhin Foundations, she joined the Orchestre des Concerts Pasdeloup. In 1990, she was appointed Principal Flute of the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris. She has performed under the direction of Georges Prêtre, Myung Whun Chung, Valery Gergiev, Seiji Ozawa, Pierre Boulez, Armin Jordan, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Semyon Bychkov, Philippe Jordan, James Conlon and Gustavo Dudamel. Holder of the C.A., she teaches at the École Normale de Musique de Paris and is in charge of an advanced training class at the Conservatoire Paul Dukas (Paris 12th). She also gives numerous masterclasses each year in France and abroad. She has recorded three educational CDs entitled Escales, Rêverie and Ballade, and is the director of a flute collection published by Alfonce Production.
