Vincent Lucas began studying the transverse flute at the age of 8 at the Clermont-Ferrand Conservatory.
In 1981 he entered first in the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP).
In 1984 he won the international radio competition of the city of Prague (Concertino Praga).
He was a flutist for 5 years with the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse from 1984. Then he was second flutist and solo piccolo with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra from 1989 for 6 years.
He has been principal solo flute of the Orchestre de Paris since 1994. He is a member of the Wind Quintet of the soloists of the Orchestre de Paris.
In parallel, he is regularly called by various orchestras for substitutions.
His time in these different orchestras has allowed him to play in concert halls renowned for their prestige: Musikverein in Vienna, Royal Albert Hall in London, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Carnegie Hall in New York are some examples.
Vincent Lucas also has a career as a chamber musician.
