PÔLE SUPÉRIEUR PARIS-BOULOGNE BILLANCOURT / CRR DE PARIS

Cello

Session #2 - From 27 Jul To 02 Aug

Teacher bio:

French internationally renowned cellist Marie-Paule Milone pursues a career driven by artistic excellence, commitment to contemporary creation, and a deep dedication to teaching and transmission.

As a soloist invited in France, Europe, and the United States, she performs in prestigious venues such as the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and the Salle Gaveau. She collaborates with conductors including Bertrand de Billy, Fabien Gabel, François-Xavier Roth, and Juraj Valčuha.

A passionate chamber musician, she shares the stage with great interpreters such as Denis Pascal, Gérard Poulet, Svetlin Roussev, Tedi Papavrami, Gérard Caussé, and Éric Le Sage.

Her artistic and pedagogical collaboration with pianist Denis Pascal holds a central place in her career: together, they develop in-depth work on the great repertoire, chamber music, and the transmission to younger generations.

Committed to contemporary creation, she is the dedicatee of works by Régis Campo, Guillaume Connesson, Nicolas Bacri, Lucien Guérinel, Jean-Dominique Krynen, and Francine Aubin.

Actively involved in cultural life, she participates in the conception and development of artistic events, notably the Tons Voisins festival in Albi, a place of musical and human encounters bringing together established artists and young talents around a demanding and open programming.

Her discography reflects this eclecticism, with recordings devoted in particular to Rachmaninov, Marx, Duruflé, Guérinel, and Wiéner.

Trained at the Toulouse Conservatory and then at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, she joined the prestigious Artist Diploma Program at Indiana University Bloomington, where she obtained the Artist Diploma (voice and cello) and served as Janos Starker's assistant for two years.

Professor at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris and at the Pôle Supérieur Paris–Boulogne-Billancourt, she is regularly invited to give masterclasses in France and abroad.

At the International Summer Academy of Nice, she puts her international stage experience, her commitment to chamber music, and her deeply human vision of transmission at the service of young artists.
