Lorraine Nubar has been a member of the faculty at the Juilliard School (New York) since 1978. She was the first American professor at the CNSMD Paris, where she trained singers for the Paris Opera and the Lyon Opera. She has taught master classes at Acantos, the Royaumont Foundation, and the International Summer Academy of Nice. Her articles have been published in Opera News. Lorraine Nubar has served on the jury of the Young Concert Artists Annual Competition, as well as competitions in Paris and Marseille. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Juilliard School in New York, where she was a student and assistant of Jennie Tourel. She also studied and taught at the Aspen Music Festival. In the United States, she studied with William Vennard, Daniel Ferro, Martial Singher, and Frank Corsaro. In Europe, she studied with Gérard Souzay, Elly Ameling, Jeanine Reiss, and Dalton Baldwin. Lorraine Nubar’s international career has always been devoted to performance and teaching. In the United States, France, Sweden, Japan… her expressive voice and communicative power have always been appreciated.
