Pascal Rogé is an ambassador of French music throughout the world. On one hand, due to his extensive discography released on DECCA: Fauré, Debussy, Satie, and Poulenc, as well as the complete piano concertos of Saint-Saëns and Ravel with Charles Dutoit. Many of these recordings have been awarded prizes, the most prestigious undoubtedly being the one received in London in 1988 for an album dedicated to Poulenc: the GRAMOPHONE AWARD for Best Record of the Year. In 1997, another GRAMOPHONE AWARD honored the pianist in the "Chamber Music" category. On the other hand, through his numerous tours each season, Pascal Rogé dedicates more than fifty concerts to French music, in Germany, notably in Leipzig and Hamburg, in Vienna, Geneva, Lausanne, London, and at numerous festivals in Finland, England, at Carnegie Hall in New York, in Los Angeles, Chicago, Cleveland, Montreal, Philadelphia, and Bregenz. Pascal Rogé has toured New Zealand and Hong Kong, Japan with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the NHK Symphony Orchestra of Tokyo, as well as Southeast Asia with the London Festival Orchestra and Australia with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore, the artist is regularly invited to Canada, where he enjoys privileged ties, notably with the Montreal Orchestra and Charles Dutoit. It all began at the age of nine, when Pascal Rogé made his first public appearance with Debussy's Preludes. A few years later, he won the First Prize in Piano and Chamber Music at the Paris Conservatory, then studied for three years with Julius Katchen. His first recitals in Paris and London, at the age of 17, earned him triumphant debuts and an exclusive contract with DECCA. Pascal Rogé won the First Prize at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition, as well as the Grand Prix at the Georges Enescu Competition in Bucharest. Passionate about chamber music, he has given numerous recitals with Chantal Juillet, Michel Portal, the Pasquier Trio, and Pierre Amoyal, with whom he recorded the violin sonatas of Brahms and Fauré. Finally, Pascal Rogé also made a televised recording of the complete Well-Tempered Clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach.
