Teacher bio:

An essential pianist of his generation, Emmanuel Strosser is a guest at prestigious festivals such as the Festival de l'Épau, l'Orangerie de Sceaux, la Roque d'Anthéron, the Colmar International Festival, Prades, Kuhmo, and "La Folle Journée"... He performs in recital and as a soloist with symphonic ensembles: the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, the Orchestre de Picardie, the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Lille, the Orchestre National de Montpellier, the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra... In addition to his recitals, chamber music holds an important place in his career. He regularly shares the stage with Olivier Charlier, Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian, Xavier Phillips, Raphaël Pidoux, Peter Wiespelwey, Romain Guyot, François Leleux, the Prazak Quartet, and members of the Orchestre de Paris... With pianist Claire Désert, he forms an essential piano duo and four-hands partnership. Emmanuel Strosser is also a member of the Owon Trio alongside Olivier Charlier and Korean cellist Sung-Won Yang. With five other pianists, Emmanuel Strosser has performed the Complete Beethoven Sonatas as well as the Complete Schumann Piano Music in numerous countries. Alongside his concerts in Europe (Wigmore Hall, Royal Academy in London, Louisiana Museum in Denmark, Cité de la Musique, Opéra Comique, Salle Gaveau in Paris...), he regularly performs in South America, the United States, Japan, and Korea... Originally from Strasbourg, Emmanuel Strosser trained with Hélène Boschi before entering the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, where he studied with Jean-Claude Pennetier (piano) and Christian Ivaldi (chamber music). After receiving unanimous first prizes, he furthered his studies with Leon Fleisher, Dimitri Bashkirov, and Maria João Pires. Winner of the Florence International Chamber Music Competition, he was a finalist in the 1991 Clara Haskil Competition. He is also a piano professor at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique and a chamber music professor at the Lyon Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique. Emmanuel Strosser has participated in numerous recordings, all warmly received by the press: a Mozart album on Harmonia Mundi, the two Fauré Quintets with the Rosamonde Quartet, the Fauré and Debussy Sonatas for violin and piano with Régis Pasquier. Released on Assaï: the Ballade and Fantaisie by Gabriel Fauré with the Orchestre de Picardie, and Beethoven's three Opus 10 sonatas, for which he received a "Choc" from Le Monde de la Musique. His recordings on Mirare include Dvorak's Slavonic Dances for four-hands piano with Claire Désert, and two solo albums dedicated respectively to Schubert and Chabrier. His latest album "L'Enfance" with Claire Désert, released on Mirare in 2013, was awarded "5 Diapasons" and "4 Étoiles Classica," and distinguished by Gramophone Magazine. From the press: "Nuanced, Strosser is so in both senses of the word: on one hand he never overplays, on the other he offers a vast palette of colours, carried by a touch of constant delicacy and a melodic line of great freshness."
